The main family holiday is already close, so it’s time to start decorating an apartment or house for the New Year celebration. How to avoid design cliches and make your home cozy and unique – read our article below.

Tip 1 – Do Not Use All the Decor That You Have at Home

“Less is better, yes it is better” – a principle that applies to New Year’s decor. It’s worth doing an audit of all the Christmas decorations. Rain and tinsel can be left on the mezzanine, but retro toys will be very relevant

Tip 2 – Think Over the Concept of the Holiday

It’s good if you come up with a scenario for New Year’s Eve. Where the holiday will begin, where the gifts will be placed – all this needs to be thought out in advance. It is important that the decor stylistically plays out the main idea of the holiday.

Casino-style New Year’s Eve parties and casino-style celebrations have been gaining popularity lately. Imagine how cool it is to decorate a house with such a theme. Well, to feel the atmosphere of the casino before you start decorating the house, play lightning roulette free.

Tip 3 – Use Glowing Garlands

Glowing garlands, like nothing else, give a sense of celebration. They can decorate not only the Christmas tree, but they look very impressive as a window frame or in the form of outlines of a Christmas tree on the wall. We recommend using white or glass garlands with warm light.

Tip 4 – Choose a Color Scheme

There is a classic set of colors for celebrating the New Year – green, red, and gold. Instead of red, you can use its shades – terracotta, pink, and bright crimson, and instead of gold – yellow and ochre. You can also choose other colors, silver or blue.

Tip 5 – Don’t Limit Yourself to One Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree often becomes the center of the entire New Year’s composition. As a rule, it stands in the living room in the most prominent place. However, the presence of a Christmas tree is not so necessary. Another coniferous tree can take its place: fir, juniper, larch, young pine, or you can not put a Christmas tree at all, but use its branches to create Christmas bouquets.

Tip 6 – Experiment

If you like cooking, then keep in mind that Bakery House style decorations are on trend right now. These are gingerbread, lollipops, pretzels, and candies. Create your own compositions: several Christmas balls and cones in a glass box, fruits sprinkled with artificial snow, a bouquet of fresh flowers and pine branches. The composition of dried oranges will not only decorate your interior but also give the house a New Year’s fragrance.

Tip 7 – The Holiday Begins at the Threshold

Before you get inside, you need to cross the threshold of the house. Twigs in the form of a wreath hanging on the doors are not just a symbol of the holiday. Such a wreath, connected with a garland hanging over the door, is a form of solemn greeting to all guests. It is worth noting that it should be hung at eye level, and this rule applies to both doors and windows inside, on which wreaths can also be hung.
