The Data Breaches
The Doomsday Heist update upset the flow of GTA Online in several important ways, prompting players to start paying attention to aspects they previously took for granted. Most of all, it highlighted how essential completing story missions is for the overall experience, and how deeply those outcomes can alter the usual “to-do” lists at the start of each day.
The first portion of the update involves a siege scenario where players have to work together to protect a desert IAA base from goons looking to hack the servers and steal valuable information. It’s a scenario fitting even for a Metal Gear Solid game: one player should dive and stealthy onboard a fully-manned enemy submarine, while the rest of the crew is caught up fighting off armed invaders at the base.
The “pending nuclear war” implications become louder and louder as the mission unfolds, racking up the intrigue and the drama up to 11. Thus, the Bogdan Problem is easily among the most unique and memorable missions in any GTA game to date.
